I put this out there to see if there was anyone that believes that this could be a viable class of vessel... I am also hesitant as many ships can do the same but as we go away from manned reconnaissance to drones is this a viable future. The reason for the size is for littoral waters where you may not want or be able to have a carrier deploy. Would this vessel need to be more stealthy, or more heavily armed to protect itself?

Yes it is of a swath design maybe I do not have the hull drawn properly.

If drones can search and destroy targets on land would a stealthy drone be able to penetrate a target rich environment such as a harbour to recon for a certain vessel and then destroy or recon a harbour and then allow ground/shipboard commanders make the decision to attack.

I'm just a newb, but shouldn't regular carriers be the ships that peform such kind of recon?

more modern drones would help a lot.... I think I am going to finish my drawing of the VARIOUS UCAV, it might be perfect for this kind of ship.

Thanks and I will look at my design and see how I can improve it for Littoral waters

Lift facilities? (I know their there but where?)
And is the rudder necessary with the seemingly rotatable cowling?
but it is an interesting looking thing

You are not going to get 18 UAVs and a large helo on that size of ship - not with the needed support equipment.

That would be a much better fit.

RP1 (our resident naval architect) did a UAV carrier recently and that was the air wing that he used.

I think, looking at RP1's that 5 UAV's might be more suitable for this one.

But IMO a bigger carrier (that can carry 15-25) would be more useful, but I suppose this one would be cheaper
