Hi there
So, I've been hanging around, having a look, and I'm a little curious to get in on this drawing lark :P
I do have to ask a few things though:
Do you guys draw your hulls from scratch, or do you work of old models? I'm particularly curious with AU and never built ships and such. I'm considering doing a modification of the Brooklyn is all.
Do you just copy weapons and stuff on, or do you draw them while looking at an Original?
All your work is awesome!
And sorry about bugging people about their AU's... I just like to question stuff

The hull depends on the ship, weapons are pulled from either ships or parts sheets.

So if I used the Brooklyn, scrubbed and edited, would that be an issue? (I would credit the original artist of course)

Always credit the original drawer, if anything of him is still alive on the new ship.
Some people do not like their AU/Personal ships to be edited.

As far as i know, golly doesnt like his AU to be edited without NOTICE. And i dont like if you change my ships into Lasurbeam canon carriers or whatever :P

Welcome on the board, and settle down first. I suggest to draw Alternate Universe/personal first.
This way you can get knowladge how things are done.

Also dont forget about this:
-Fire equipment
-Mooring rings
-Bolders
-Railing
-Sight for wheelman
-Top heavy
-Overweight
-Structural strenght
-Space for weapons (deck penetration)
-Helicopter clearness, dont put wires above landing pad

Those are i quess the main thing.

I was mainly just going to scrub the preponderance of AA weapons of the Brooklyn to start with. I want a picture of the pre-war variant, and the only model is late-war...

Then you're in the country of Real World, IMHO the best place to be.
