Besides I was thinking more this:

Do note that, as I just realized, SPG-60 is capable of acting as a gun director too, so you don't need the eggdome anymore.
Post as an attachment so that I can see it, then I'll comment.

I settled on a compromise between the two designs. IMO the other VLS is just plain ugly. I also made a few minor tweaks.

I'd find room for a second director of some sort if I were you. Right now you can only use one of your weapons at a time. A simple electro optical device should do.

He'll probably only need to use one weapon at a time. Why not save on a few tonnes here and there?

A complete Matador installation weighs about fifty kilos or so, including the unit itself, the necessary converter boxes and wiring.
Had we been talking several tons, then I'd agree with you, fifty or even 100 kilos are negligible in the greater scheme.
Plus, it doubles as a FLIR, which is very good for SAR.

I'm not familiar with Matador but I'll take your word on it.

Either way the next step would be to finish the waterline. And to make propellers that don't look retarded.

At this point he can drop the SPG-60. The SPQ-9B can do both surface search, gun direction, and low-altitude guidance for the ESSM.

Uh, is there a Matador on the parts sheet? 'Cause I have no idea what it looks like.
