Oh, I've thought about what this holes function was. This stabilizer fin is it movable and what's the approximate size?

it is slightly different from ship to ship, but it is not infinite size, so some ships that I have seen has two sets but it is now more experimental (a little harder to control). The solution I've seen is that a computer adjust it's stabilizer and Azipod / variable pitch propeller at a ratio of how the boat moves.

but I'm not an expert in the area, all I know is that everything is possible. Until mr. calculator spoiling it for you!

It should be about as long as the hole since it folds in there when it's not in use.
