O.K. First try from the hull up (borrowed screws from mightnightnova's USS Mass.) Still needs lots of work, looking for big or little things I've missed so far. Based on a Springsharp design. Just a little too big for XL template could this be a time where cropping of the XXL might be o.k. |

Not bad at all! However it looks like the ship has a way to deep draught for it's size. |

Yah, the Springsharp stats came out with a really deep draught. Don't know how accurate the formulas it uses are. The Design is also armored to all get out, probably why it's so deep. Anyways, it does look ungangly, so I don't know if it will stay. The idea was a cheap cruiser killer. Armor it to protect it from CAs, and outgun it, though not by much, and if you're not worried about any treaties, hell who cares what the displacement is. I was going to make a post, but, frankly, this makes it redundant.But to elaborate on the good points - it demonstrates an understanding of ranging (tall structure for spotting), an understanding of proper rangefinders for the proper, associated guns, a distinct lack of noobish overload, and even ample details that are usually completely forgotten with all but veteran drawers. In fact if anything it frankly draws to the question of how did you end up with such an odd draft in the first place, given how excellent everything else is. |

I'm not trying to draw an American ship, in time I hope to have an entire set of gear that I've drawn, like the 5" guns, radar aerials, etc. But excellent points, and I've been thinking about moving my fore and aft 5" like US CAs, don't know, still a WIP. |

Great work, this looks pretty decent. The bridge tower needs more details, bridge wings and platforms etc but its coming on nicely. You've a good style and you know what your doing. I agree the turrets might be too small but you have ample room to extend them. You might want to change the radar for something less modern looking too. Lookinf forward to more. |

You can always edit something to death, the trick is knowing when to stop, I think I'm almost at that point. Bigger turrets, a little more subtle shading here and there. |

Looking good, but in my eyes it seems to have a mix of various styles (nations). The main radar seems to be the British Type 965 ('double bedstead'), and the secondary armament directors seem to be Mk.37 with Type 275 radar. Secondary armament is 5"/37 and the main guns seem like American guns, as wwell as the catapult. In fact the whole idea of a catapult at the stern is American. The bridge blockhouses are unique but the funnel cap reminds me of a German cap like in the Hipper class cruisers (BTW not done yet?). A smaal suggestion would be to decide upon the country and then use other ships from that country as regards to style. Apart from the above it shows alot of promise, and you seem to know what you are aiming for. |
