I hadn't thought about doing that, that looks MUCH better!

If you are going to be using a lot of German parts/ships, then it is worthwhile saving to your computer all of the German real life and never were drawings from the German section of the main Archive. That gives you a ready reference of all the different ways that things can be done. That shaft entry I copy/pasted to your drawing is a slightly modified version off GarlicDesigns Salamis. It does not need crediting.

I am using a variety of ship designs, but almost exclusively German parts.

A battleship designed shortly after the Petra-class.

Looks quite reasonable. What are her stats?

I usually don't do springsharps for my ships.

but I can tell you that her main armament is 11" guns in twin turrets and her secondary armament is 9" guns in single turrets.

It looks a nice ship,
but I dont see the need for the 9" if you have 6x11" firing 2 more will not add much and if anything will just add confusion ?

If you just had 4 x 11" it would make sense as a normal Predreadnught or just have 2 single 11" on each side for 4 guns forward ?

And I think you need some smaller guns for ant TB work.

There are casemates.

I think the casemates can be better represented. Take a look at other pre-dreads of the era, and you'll see. The forward casemate will likely be in a blister that juts out from the hull.

As I based this on BB-7 Indiana (practically a half-sister), here's a picture that kind of shows what it would look like.

Also, superfiring turrets would not have been seeing usage until after the turn of the century, past 1900. The first ship to use any turrets in a superfiring configuration would be the French Henri IV battleship, launched in 1899. Even then, the first ship to fully utilize the superfiring configuration for main batteries was BB-26 South Carolina, launched in 1908.

Is there a specific reason why superfiring turrets are not plausible for 1895?
