The only photograph was I found suggests that the ship had small screws. It was a ship with limited speed, barely 18 knots.

A very nice ship and the drawing is very good. I join eswube's remark about the propellers, which seem too small. the picture you have provided shows the ship at dock before the propellers were installed, and whay you see are the shafts brackets (supports).
