Another old ink/pencil drawing that I found in my Photobucket account:
[ img ]

No oars for clarity of hull details. In case someone wonders, it's a Roman Five or Quinquerem, around the time of the First Punic War (264-241 BCE)

Awesome! I assume bronze plating?

Well, copper plating...an early form, due to the dreaded Teredo navalis worm... (actually, we have evidence that the Romans also used iron plating! So I guess it can be either!) Btw, I did it entirely free-hand, no rulers used except for the waterline. Hence it's a tad squiggly-wiggly...

Great drawing.

Before I started to use an computer to do drawing on, I drawet my boats on paper. at one point I was so good that I could draw without looking, but never to this standard.

For a purely hand-made (without ruler) drawing it's even more impressive!

Love it. It is so well done that before I read your description I could tell what it was. Its not a generic galley like most renditions.

Very, very nice Ari. I see I'm not the only one who first drafted with a tee square and compas befor MS Pant.

Sailing men-o-war were my favorets . . . I loved frigates and two deckers the best.

I agree. I do plane (someday in the future...) to draw all of my ink drawings in SB-scale, so I hope no one "steals" them... ;) 8-)
