Inserting a new wheeled infantry APC into the mix. The old GLT1 is now GLT2

Introduced in the mid-1350s, the GLT1 represents a significant development in APCs. Evolving from the OT2A3, originally a half-track, the GLT1 transitioned into an all-wheel configuration with larger wheels, enhancing its off-road mobility. Notably, it prioritized affordability over even light armor, offering protection only against rifle-caliber bullets. This focus on cost-effectiveness led to a more cramped interior compared to its counterparts, the LT1 and LT2.

It's important to note that the GLT1 coexisted with the LT1 and LT2, as both divisions preferred different APCs. The Armour generals preferred their spacious and protected APCs, though both vehicle families were used as IFVs before the invention of dedicated infantry fighting vehicles. The GLT1's budget-friendly design made it an attractive choice for Army infantry divisions, despite its limited troop capacity and relatively cramped interior. This emphasis on cost-efficiency, along with its mobility and rifle-caliber bullet resistance, solidified its role as a practical and accessible armored transport option for infantry operations, and a similiar, but larger and less cramped replacement was developed as the GLT2 Mongoose, introduced in the 90s.

GL5 Weasel

The GL5 multipurpose vehicle stands as a versatile military platform, stemming from the GLT1's lineage. This derivative, while maintaining the core attributes of its predecessor, presents a shortened configuration tailored to perform an array of crucial roles within military operations.

Convoy escort ranks among its primary functions, where the GL5 plays a pivotal role in safeguarding military convoys during transit. Additionally, the vehicle assumes the responsibility of short-range air defense, effectively countering aerial threats in close proximity to ground troops. Its adaptability extends to reconnaissance missions, providing a means to gather vital intelligence on enemy movements, and offering anti-tank capabilities to effectively neutralize armored threats on the battlefield. The multifaceted capabilities of the GL5 position it as a valuable asset for modern armed forces, capable of fulfilling various roles efficiently and effectively.

OT2

The OT2 Halftrack emerged towards the end of the World War but had limited combat service within the Antaran army before and after the war. It found export and lend-lease agreements with nations like Remen and Heruryu. However, technical issues, particularly in the OT2A2 model with suspension problems in challenging terrains, and compatibility challenges with spare parts in the subsequent OT2A3 redesign, hindered its widespread adoption. These technical troubles, combined with the vehicle's limited historical significance, contributed to its relatively low popularity in military vehicle history.

The OT2A3's technical issues were largely rectified with the derivitive GLT1, a vastly more popular design.

I like the evolution of the OT-2. Although extreme, very nicely thought.
