Back in October for the Cold War Primary Trainer Challenge, I mentioned that the Philippines and Mexico had also been operators of my entry, the Piper PA-50. Here are the schemes for their aircraft, as well as a pair of modern civilian operators. Better (three months) late than never, I suppose! Mexico Philippines Civilian Operators |

Bf 109 in Iraq While reseaching the Nazi Fliegerführer Irak I came across photos of a Bf109E in Iraqi colours. First though was "Oh, I've never heard of that before". But of course a bit of digging showed it was a "what-if", but a great one in that it's reasonably plausible, and potentially a one-off that never got much publicity and details have only just been found somewhere. There are some quite good created pictures of fantasy aircraft, the A-51 Stallion comes to mind, but now with the rise of AI we'll find pictues of even more models that seem like they were real, but weren't. I liked that 109, so I've modelled it here. Just to re-iterate, it never existed for real. |
