I really like your work on the UK. One question: Does the British
Army really spell sergeant (serjeant) with a "J" instead of a "G"?

Serjeant is an obsolete spelling of sergeant, although still used in some British Army regiments, notably The Rifles.

While I may have a spectacular reputation for advertising my ignorance and am aware that the Brits were experiencing serious manpower difficulties by late 1944, I am pretty sure that the British Infantry Battalion was a 4 rifle company establishment, rather than a 3.

I hate to pile on, but I think the 15-cwt radio truck shows a Radar, Light Warning set in a Mk.III radio house. The signal set used by infantry units would have a frame antenna parallel to the roof or a single pole antenna with guy wires.
