Impressive chart.
One nit-pick, though - companies IMHO lack tank for company commander (thereby increasing number of tanks in company to 17, or keeping it 16 with 3 troops/platoons of 5 plus commander's tank)

Nice. I suggest you to regroup Supply in one Troop/Squadron

eswube; This structure is based on an official UK MOD Armoured Regiment structure from 1942 (tank compliment would have been a mix of Crusaders and Lee/Grants). The only change I have made from this is the additional fuel and Medical assets in the squadron support troops. Was tempted to include a dedicated 'command' vehicle to the HQ squadron, as well as REME vehicle recovery assets which the regimental To&E lacked for some reason. This To&E also represents the transition from 45-50mm guns to the more potent 75mm guns.

Caddaric79; I drew it this was because this is how the official To&E was represented, but I agree; in reality, the support and logistics assets would likely be grouped in their own squadron or even regimental groups acting behind the armored formations, with only the medical and possibly the REME contingent acting in close support of the fighting squadrons.

In this AU the heavy tank design doesn't see action until the battle of Alam El Halfa in August/September '42, hence the lack of the AV-H heavy tanks in this chart.

These are some of the nicest tanks in the 'bucket. I still have doubts that the Falkland Islands could produce armor divisions, but the drawings are great and that's all that really matters :)

Thanks for the compliments Gents.

Kilomuse; I whipped up a map to give you a better idea of things - hopefully this tempers your pessimism. Like i've previously mentioned in this thread, the DCFI includes most of the Island archipelagos in the Sth Atlantic, plus all of the South American mainland east of the peaks of the Andes and south of the River Colorado.

Another organizational Chart, this time a Mechanized Infantry Combat Team from the fighting in Nth Africa, circa 1942.

This combined arms Sub-unit is made up of a platoon of AV-M Tanks from 'A' Squadron, 3rd Falkland Hussars; and a 5-track Platoon of Mk.1 APCs carrying a reinforced platoon of B Company, East Falkland Rifles (Regiment), Part of the 4th Infantry Division, reclassified as the 1st Mechanized Infantry Division in February 1942.

Please also note that I've updated the post detailing the AV10 series tanks and APCs earlier on in this thread.

Hi guys,

Long time between drinks but I've finally gotten around to adding the next evolutions in the DCFI Tank genealogy. See first post on this thread to view this in context with the other tanks developed thus far, but for now...

AV-T 'Cavalier' Main Battle Tank
[ img ]

Designed in the late days of WW2 and not fielded in time to participate in the defeat of Germany. Collaboration with Great Britain resulted in a hull and drive train design very similar to the superlative Centurion series MBT. Powered by the Falklands Mod V2 diesel engine, with a revised turret as per the AV-H series tanks, capable of mounting 20pdr, DCFI 90mm, 105mm and General purpose 120mm guns. (more follow-on Marks of this design to be represented in the future)

AV-L 'Sentinel' Main Battle Tank
[ img ]

Designed in 1942 as a replacement for the capable but increasingly obsolescent AV-S series light tanks, the AV-L series light tank (known as the 'Sentinel' in DCFI service) used the common AV50/60 series chassis and drive train as its basis. Powered by the compact Rolls Royce Phoenix diesel engine (based on the Merlin/Griffin/Meteor line of engine development), this chunky little speedster could cruise at 45mph and carried class-leading armour and gunnery in the form of the FQF75 GP gun capable of firing all types of anti-armour, anti infantry and common high explosive ordinance. testing was completed by early 1943 and sentinels began to be issued to units in time for the Operation TORCH landings and the 8th Army's pursuit of Rommel's DaK into Tunisia. It was highly successful in the combat recce and cavalry roles throughout this and the remaining battles of the European war, and was also pressed into service as an escort and command vehicle for artillery and logistics units. Small numbers made it to the pacific conflict being used by the Australian and New Zealand forces in operations on New Guinea, New Britain, Bogainville and Borneo, where their size, exceptional all-terrain mobility and high firepower was particularly useful in the tough jungle fighting.

These drawings are 100% original work - any comments of a constructive nature are welcome :)

Cheers
