Today I bring you a quaint little aircraft, which was built and flown but not accepted into service.

Hi, Charguizard! Your drawing is wery well done... but the model chose was, well, somewhat odd ;) !

A engineless model, but with a rich history in WWII: Airspeed Horsa.

The yellow bellied one was a training model used during 1943. The second one is depicted as it appeared during the operations around Caen during D-Day. And the third one is shown as it was during the landings in Germany during Operation Varsity.

Unfortunatelly, I was unable to find an accurate description of the markings during Operation Market-Garden . So I hope that this link can compensate it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O05F-90 ... 05F-90fDJ4 (with permission of the moderators). Cheers!

A late night drop off; the Bulgarian-made DAR 10.
Length increased from 205px to 217px. Thank you eswube for pointing that out.

@Reytuerto
Nice work!

@Bordkanone75
Looks nice but I don't have good news for You. Length of the DAR-10 was 9,54m with Alfa Romeo 128 R.C.21 engine or 9,83m with Fiat A 74 R.C.38 engine for DAR-10F. That gives 211 (210,76622) and 217 (217,17419) pixels respectively.
And Your drawing is just 204 pixels long (for a longer F model). :(

Simple method of calculating scale (FD is 22,093 pixels for 1 metre):
size in question in meters x 22,093 = result

And since You're from the USA and still most likely use miles, feets and inches in everyday life, then 1 feet = 0,3048m (or 30,48cm) which means that 1 metre is 3,280839895ft.
There are many conversion tools available in the internet.

Charguizard,
The Pterodactyl Mk.V looks awesome. It looks perfect.

reytuerto,
An excellent addition. A very good set of drawings. Although they don't seem to show very well on photos you might want to check the panel lines, e.g. [ img ]

BK 75,
Another interesting addition but the scaling issue is a problem still. Once you've cracked that you'll be doing some very fine work.

Oh, thanks Hood! All the drawings that I was able to find were very scarce of panel lines. I will fix it this weekend! Cheers!
