Great job. On side view of that Yak, fuel tank is not too small? In front view it looks like lower then main airframe but on side is on the same level. |

Yeah, it seems the 3 views weren't precise with each other, and I didn't bother to doublecheck the different views against each other  Which is more accurate? Sadly I took one source to be superior to the others and trusted it diligently, and since this plane is not around anymore, we might never know. I would've rather do it without wing tanks but then again I have little clue as to how the plane looks down there. |

Having drawn my first 3-view in FD scale for the naval fighter contest I would agree that getting a 3-view to line up precisely in FD scale is difficult, especially when you are dealing with wing dihedral/anhedral and underwing stores. Even at this scale some compromises have to be made. Many line drawings are not always accurate so photos are always a good back up, but even then differing angles etc. can make it hard to discern details like how low an underwing tank/store hangs in relation. |
