The first Dutch submarine, Hr.Ms. O 1, originally called ''Luctor et Emergo'' build at the Schelde yard. The Design is based on the well know HOLLAND designs from USA.

A proposal given to the Government of Flanders and Belgium for a submarine for the Royal Belgian Navy.
Modified design of the O 1. Even the Belgians came over for order discussions, they never ordered, but went for minelayers instead.

The first submarine to serve in the Colonials (hence the ''K'' - Kolonien)

1930s Dutch submarines. Used for coastal operations. The Hr.Ms. O 13 is well known to dissapear on one day of patrols along the Polish ''Orzel'' Both wrecks still never been found.

Personally I consider the O16, the most beautiful Dutch submarine..

Modified model offered to the Portuguese Navy, but they went to Vickers instead...

The designer of the O16 used his design as base for the well known Polish Submarine ''Orzel''

Perhaps the most famous and best killing scores. She was known for flying the ''Bloedvlag'' (bloodflag) or known in Royal Navy as Jolly Roger.
I had the honored chance to meet its Commander, who served aboard the vessel in 1943.

You are doing a wonderful job of drawing the Dutch subs, Alex.

That you have chosen to do these in FD scale is awesome in itself and put the rest of us to shame.

I did look at drawing the HMS Ariadne minelayer in FD as I have some good drawings, but I just got lost in the details and gave up. So many congratulations to you for producing so many great drawings in FD.
