Nice set of Zeros. One suggestion, these would look even better if just the sliding portion of the canopy was outlined in black and the bottom line of the fixed portion in dark green/grey. |

Douglas DC-9-10 first production aircraft ![[ img ]](https://i.imgur.com/4lZymUV.png) No DC-9 prototypes were built, the first DC-9 aircraft to fly was a production model, later designated as the DC-9 Series 10. The Series 10 were the smallest model of the DC-9 family. |

USA, Cessna 206 Stationair ![[ img ]](https://i.imgur.com/HejXZMd.png) Made a few semi-heretical decisions here in the spirit of improving the drawing overall (door outlined in shade instead of black, canopy colors) by decreasing double-black lines and creating a more accurate canopy. |

It's likely a universal theme common with Japanese aircraft throughout towards the middle of the war. Initially (1940-late 1942) came without the hinomaru (as depicted on most A6M2), but starting from 1943, I think white was utilized as a form of identification between friend and foe. Some latewar Zeros (esp. the 721st) dropped the white (as they were on kamikaze missions anyways)

McDonnell Douglas MD-81 UHB Demonstrator Very suprised this gem hasn't been modeled before. ![[ img ]](https://i.imgur.com/NA6w4wB.png) In the mid-1980's the high price of fuel led to the investigation of alternatives powerplants. The unducted fan concept was a hybrid between a jet and a standard turbo-prop engine that promised excellent fuel efficiency with the speed and power of jets. Both Boeing and McDonnell Douglas prepared to produce lines of new aircraft with the new technology, both flying engine test beds with a UDF engine on one side. Unfortunately the the UDF engines were significantly more expensive than the equivalent jet engine, and the Western UDF engines were never put in to production. |

Excellent work from everybody. I think the Cessna 206 looks good, I might have been tempted to use a slightly darker grey for the door outlines. The MD-UHB test beds look great too. Really nice to see them. Pity this technology is still talked about but still nowhere near production. |
