Save your files, get your Windows CD and format both PC and laptop and re-install windows.
Also it's avery good idea to have all important files on an external hard-drive.
When he moves the files over he should first burn a Linux LiveCD for the file transfer. This will help prevent the infection from spreading to the external drive.

Quite. I always keep a liveCD (or LiveDVD) for use in emergencies. I actually keep several - from DSL to full on Ubuntu, because I admin everything from 8 year old Celeron (Willamette-128 at 1.8 Ghz running XP home 32) boxes to , this i5 (running Win7 Pro x64) machine I'm on now.

Edit: I also keep either a restore disk, or an OS disk with the complete set of stable drivers in the event of an emergency.

Personally, I can't wait for it to happen; too many years of listening to all those smug assholes in coffee shops have left me with a rather jaded view towards Macs...
I, too, regularly wish personal harm on people because of their purchasing decisions.

Timothy.
How to clean the Extern HD ter reinstall from windows and already with everything on it?
I dont know if the Extern HD is infected, and i failed to connect to it with my PDA.

My neighbour across the street is fixing my desktop right now.
He said he found 167 virusses, 21 key loggers, 3 hackers.
The mouse moved to the X while he was browsing the internet for the program that he uses to clean my pc.
But he didnt knew he could whipe my whole pc, so he does that instead.
Kinda weird that people can ''control'' your mouse from the other side of the earth (or where ever the guy came from)

Greetings.

Mitch ;)

Once you have a clean windows machine with an good antimalware program installed, scan the disk before you copy anything to the system's hard drive.

That's a situation where you have the antimalware downloaded from a known good machine, and you don't put the infected machine back out on the net. I'd also change all of your passwords NOW. Don't finish reading this post. Do it now.

Have it done yet? Good. Assume that anything you accessed while infected is compromised.

I'd recommend DBan or KillDisk; just totally wipe whatever's on the hard drive and reinstall Windows from a clean disk.

Yeah that is the best option, and I was talking about data recovery from a potentially infected external hard drive.

A good point also is when re-installing Windows is to partition the hard drive, and all your drawings for instance, save them in the partition which is not the Windows partition.
