Quite funny actually (or maybe the fact that it isn't funny at all) is that it seems that the Falklands where invaded just after the British MoD had announced that it would scrap the plans for the Fleet Carriers and it's escorts... Let's hope that is not the case this time. No but really, how are they going to pull that of with NO air support at all, if the Falklands get attacked within two years time?

I think the Argentinian navy is in an even worse spot.

The presence of No. 1435 Flight at RAF Mount Pleasant is a deterrent in and of itself.

Stuart Slade also explained that Queen Elizabeth will be built with a skijump, and an initial air wing of helicopters, temporary deployments of USMC Harriers. After Prince of Wales is launched (in CATOBAR configuration), Queen Elizabeth will go into refit, have her skijump removed, and have both a catapult and arrestor wires installed. After she comes out of refit, Queen Elizabeth and Prince of Wales will alternate positions (one being in extended readiness and the other being ready to deploy), althought both could be surged out in the event that they are both needed.

Does that mean that both ships will get an angled deck configuration? Will this change the exterior look of the ship very much?

The Argentine navy has literally nothing that works. I've seen the ships up close and even the "modern" MEKOs are in a dreadful state. The Esporas, Drummonds and the Prefectura craft are in decent shape because they're used to patrol against non-state sanctioned fishing and such. The Naval Air arm is inexistent apart from a few Sea Kings and 3 Super Etendards in dubious state. Only one of TR-1700 works properly and the support and supply ships are in equal disarray. The other branches of the military are in equal state, and quite a few of the "good" troops are tied down in peacekeeping UN ops anyways. The FIDF and Flight 1435 might as well not exist due to the fact that the Argentine military has no force projection powers whatsoever.

That aside, good work by the UK to cut down on unprofitable spending that is in no way beneficiary to society as a whole.

probably not too much, seeing that alot of the theoretical work was done for the CVF-FR

there is also confusion over commando helecopter force and fleet air arm. on some of the Air forums the RAF are predicting the end of both before they move on Army Air Corps the Air staff are briefing that the Merlin HC3 is staying with RAF and the Navy Briefing it going to them. RAF are also briefing they will be the F35 operator.
