I found an old hellenic defense magazine from June 1982, which has an article about Maritime Patrol Aircraft. Features. S-3 Viking, P-3 Orion, Nimrod and Atlantic, after some thoughts in real Hellas to replace the HU-16B. In my scenario RHN has the Shackleton MR3, which could be soldiered on in Black Sea only and Orion aquired for East Meditteranean. These Orions entered service in 1986-87 and were second hand, not updated P-3C from USN. Modernization program as write before, some pages back.

In Black Sea Orions are regular visitors after 1993.

This thread is around form January and still no reply after several thousand views. It needs rethinking, so several questions will follow.

-If HLK in late 1950's to early 1960's developed a low level attack aircraft (the R-57), what could the the answer of Turkey? The A-7?
-When I started conversation about choosing a light bomber for HLK (and chose finally the Buccaneer), it supposed that Turkey had attained a medium bomber. What could be the latter? Is possible to came from USSR or it must be something Western? As said, Turkey seem that was not a full NATO menber in that era.
-Also there were thoughts in Turkey to buy Tornadoes in late 1980' s, what about giving them 80 of these? IDS with airfield destrying equipment, ALARM missiles and other attack weapons to counter the extensive radar network of HLK.
- An interesting scenario I read about Turkish LPH and F-35 is to attach Hellas from West, were real Hellas is almost unprotected. Of course HLK is not, because of the Space Center in South Peloponesse near the sea and the oil rigs in Ionian Sea. Even in this scenario the F-35 is useful for Turkey, since they will have in my AU both 100 F-35 A and about 40 F-35B on two large LPH.

And the cruiser I promised some pages back:

It is in a WIP form, credits will follow with the complete design.

She has three SPG-51, so after NTU upgrade she is capable of guiding 12 SM-2MR missiles and the large hangar can accommodate easily 2-3 HC-50/HC-60 UAV helicopters and 2 AS-332F or the UAV and up to 3 AB-212.

not bad, but she does look big for about the arnament a kidd class ships. the hangar is a bit bigger, there is one more gun (but of a lower weight) and the 127mm gun is of an heavier type.

Any idea of which VDS could I use? One large for these cruisers and for Konon Mk3 class frigates and a smaller one for Konon Mk2 Class.

And the reloader which some RHN ships used for Sea Falcon and Sea Sparrow. Messimvria Class frigates had the Sea Falcon forward the superstructure and therefore they had a reloader similar with that of ASROC in Brooke/ Garcia.

If read carefully specs, it is obvious that 1977 variant is much more capable that 1973 concept.
