Good luck with the fittings, you also have to remember with the 6" and 8" they will need to have ammunition handling rooms and magazines underneath the turrets, and then you still have to do your machinery rooms.
Actually, since you guys gave me the hull-form, my mind literally went screaming alarms with the current armament. It's a bit of a quirk of mine thanks to my Aspurgers.

@ 6" guns: the German design philosophy is odd to those who see DP guns everywhere. From what I can tell the lack of DP guns is due to the mentality that Germans had in general towards DP guns in that they're too much of a compromise in the first place, so they worked on getting a space-hogging arrangement of AA and anti-ship guns to work instead.
Hi GrandAdmiralFox,

As I understand it, one of the big drivers towards a separate low-angle battery was concern over RN destroyers - the KM traded away AA performance to ensure they'd be able to engage destroyers outside of their own range. The 105mm AA followed on from the 149.1mm's manifest unsuitability for AA work - if you're going to have to carry separate AA anyway, might as well optimise it for that role.

Adam

Looking at this I see a raider or an escort. Main Battery isn't enough to take on a capitol ship but she can take on most anything else.

I do agree that deck space is going to be a bit crowded with this many guns though...
Looked into it and yeah alarm bells. Big ones. I'll get a revised one in soon. Perhaps with a battle cruiser chaser.

Anyway I've got a question, has anyone done anything similar to Warship Gunner's shipbuilding program? Just asking here. Springsharp is a bit limited but good enough for basic setups and design.

Jormungand is much better, although I would try and fit in a torpedo bulkhead on a ship this large.

Moscow is interesting, 30-inch torpedoes? Somebody's gonna get hurt!
You have excess hull strength which you can get rid of (get hull strength down to 0.51), and if possible try and get seakeeping above 1 (speaking as someone who served on a small ship in the north Atlantic in February I thank you!).

Well, alright, I'll see what I can do.

Moscow's much better.

Johnson's huge, but still deck space is going to be at a premium with all those guns and torpedoes. I would recommend dropping the twin 3-inch guns and making the Main Battery layout AB/XY instead of A/P/Q/Y.

Why the love of such large DDs ? (so early on)

Why the 2x 85mm AA guns on a ship ? bit of a waste without there own director just for 1 gun on each side ? (same for USN 3")

30" Torpedoes is quite big even the biggest LL was only 24" ?

2"/51mm protection on tertiary guns ?

IIRC the Type 7's carried two single 76mm AA so two single 85mm AA isn't out of line...

But the type 7s are old small DDs without DP main guns ?

Why have 2x 85mm (without good directors as they will weight to much to be worth it for 1 gun each side) when you have a full DP battery with 6 - 5.12" and presumably full director control ?
