The community poll for the first Trainbucket challenge is now closed. Seventeen people responded in the allotted time frame. They deserve our thanks, as do the sixteen people who submitted entries. As always, these challenges would not be possible without them.
While the number of submissions was small compared to some of our more popular challenges, we still saw many interesting and unique designs brought to life with high drawing standards.
Congratulations to Acelanceloet, the winner of the Trainbucket challenge. They achieved first place with the excellent
Bombardier HDSM, and also received the highest score in all categories except drawing quality. Their entry was dedicated to a friend who passed away last year.
Second place goes to TigerHunter1945’s literal last-minute submission, the sleek looking
NEXT 1000. The amount of detail rendered in an aesthetically pleasing fashion blew me away. It is no surprise they achieved the highest score the drawing quality category. They also tied with Acelanceloet for the highest score in the design realism category.
In third place is JPDLD and their wonderful rendition of a tamping machine: the
Plasser & Theurer "Stopfexpress" 09-3X. It was great to see maintenance-of-way equipment.
