[ img ]

I have not found name for the class yet...any ideas.
On this design empasis has been given to big AA guns number, as well on the
carriage of big number of Hydroplanes (Fighters & Bombers/Torpadoplanes),
this is the reason of the big hangar at midships.
The lenghth is abt 198m and breadth of abt 27 m
Main Armament of 2x3 x 14" guns all forward
Secondary armament of 5 x 2 x 4'' DP AA guns all aft.
14 x 2 x 40mm AA guns and 15 x 2 x 20 mm AA guns.

Nice! For the name, how about "Acropolis"?

It's the mid-1930s. Fixed-wing aviation is good for a combat radius of a couple of hundred miles.

What possible use do the Greeks have with a fast battle scout with aviation aboard?

Nice design...there seems to be great aspiration among the better AU's to always incorporate these all-foward 6 gunned Battlecruisers/Pocket BB's... :D
But I kinda adjoin Erik here, floatplanes and their usefullness was becoming rather redutant in Navies as WWII processed onward and most navies ditched them away as firehazzards and obsolence as with the advent of carrier aviation.

Good design, very elegant lines. Personally I would install one more 14" gun at the back if it is possible.

Another possible name could be "Alexander the Great".

I disagree with both Golly and erik_t on the issue of aviation. The USN kept aircraft on board its cruisers till ca. 1950, when the catapults were finally removed and the aviation replaced with helicopters in some cases. The RHN would have great use of fighter/spotter planes operating from their cruisers. The geography and topography of the Aegean and southern Adriatic littoral makes it very hard for radar (especially the kind of primitive type they had in the 1940s) to fully penetrate , due to the numerous islets, islands and mountain ranges being in their way. Thus a 1940s enemy fleet could relatively easily penetrate, say from the West to the East by basically hogging the Greek shorelines. Spotters could effectively aid in the early detection of such operations.
As for names, how 'bout "Vasilefs Romanos I Lekapenos" after the great Byzantine admiral cum Emperor, whose time was a golden era for the Byzantine navy?

But would such roles be purposefull for heavy unit with large artillery, compared to more dedicated build seaplane tender or Gotland type of ligth scout cruiser?

Or even just land based aircraft.

A very nice looking ship. I'm not sure of the likely uses of this ship, perhaps to deter Italian units from operating off the coast and making landings etc. and as a powerful anti-cruiser vessel. Certainly commerce raiding seems unlikely unless the ship can get into the Atlantic.

I would say some embarked aircraft are necessary for spotting and fire control in this period. First, co-operation with land-based aircraft (Air Force or Naval Aviation) is harder and you need to ensure they can get to where you are when you need them. Second, the Greek AF isn't that large and given possible greater operational needs ashore they might not have the resources or inclination to support naval operations.
