Hans Dortenmann was a German fighter ace with 38 aerial victories accredited to his name. Joining the Luftwaffe in 1941, Dickfeld would fight throughout Europe. On 29 March 1945, Dortenmann became Staffelkapitän of 3./JG 26 and awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross less than a month later. Dortenmann claimed his final victory on 27 April 1945 over Berlin during the closing days of the war.

Hans Dortenmann flew a Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D9 during the Battle of Berlin. With 18 victories in the D-9, Dortenmann is considered to be the most successful Dora-9 fighter pilot.

Another excellent work of art.
Its amazing how the inline engine totally changed the contours of the Fw190 and made it so sleek looking.

Yup. Kurt Tank sure did know how to sexify a fighter.

Werner Zech was an Oberfeldwebel in the Luftwaffe during the wanning days of World War II. A pilot in Staffel 14, Jagdgeschwader 26, Zech's Fw 190 D-9 was shot down on 18 March 1945 by a pilot of the 503rd Fighter Squadron, USAAF five kilometers west of Ellingshausen, Germany. Zech was wounded during the incident, but would survive the war.

Franz Götz was a German fighter ace, with 63 aerial victories to his name. The recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, Major Götz became the Geschwaderkommodore of the elite Jagdgeschwader 26 operating out of Northern Germany. The deadly Fw-190 D-13 was delivered to JG26 in March of 1945, and Götz's "Yellow 10" remains the last surviving F-13 in existence. It is currently on display in the Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, Washington.
