The books about the RDN are either extremely specific or generalised to the point of uselessness.
Fortunately, that's changed a bit in recent years.

Then what do they do with those books?
I assume they use them as door stoppers
Finnish libraries have this habbit of exhibiting certain "book collections" which are usually inherited from some poor old sod who had no family remain to take custody of his remainings...they are then placed in speciall shells and kept there as a relics more than a normaly library items.

Darn it, I'd forgotten I haven't sent you that soviet naval book yet - it was actually in the box and LP pinched the box for something else - I'll get it away soon. But yes, we are fortunate, and Freidman is one of the cousins :)

Do you mean literally? If so they ought to be keel hauled. BTW, my copy of The Future British Surface Fleet arrived and was a withdrawn copy from Leicesterhire libray services. I've read it, but now I need to digest it - a daunting task. It really is an excellent introduction to the science of naval architecture, from a master on that subject.

Libraries are no longer libraries any more. All the ones round here are full of computers and other high technology. We used to have a fair selection of military books including some nice naval ones now there's sweet fark all in there except fiction and kiddy books.

I'm glad I have access to the Navy's library. They have pretty much every edition of Janes since it started being published and most of the USNI books among others.
