Hi,
Continuing my reconstruction of my lost threads, Here is the USS Virginia-Class Battleships.

USS Virginia (BB-13) was the lead ship of her class of United States Navy pre-dreadnought battleships. Virginia was laid down in May 1902 at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company in Newport News, Virginia, was launched in April 1904, and was commissioned into the fleet in May 1906.

Virginia served in the Atlantic Fleet, for the duration of her career; much of it spent conducting peacetime training exercises to maintain fleet readiness. In 1907–09, she took part in the cruise of the Great White Fleet around the world. She was involved in the American intervention in the Mexican Revolution in 1913–1914, including the occupation of Veracruz. After the United States entered World War I in April 1917, she was used first to train gunners for the expanding wartime fleet, and later to escort convoys to Europe. During this period, she served briefly as the flagship of the 1st and 3rd Divisions, Battleship Force. After the war ended in November 1918, she was assigned to the operation to transport American soldiers back from France. Virginia was decommissioned in 1920 and eventually expended as a target ship in 1923 under the terms of the Washington Naval Treaty.

Excellent!!!!

The stacked turrets of these ships always interested me. My only suggestion would be to dull the yellow color down a bit, right now it seems too bright.

I agree about the color: but to find the right hue is problematic at best...I think the stacked turrets rendered this class of four ships the ugliest of the us navy's ships.

I second the praise for the dedication and good results, and also for the garish yellow, it looks a bit like zinc chromium to me.
The shield on the prow is really nice by the way.

Nice work.
I'm sure others have drawn US vessels of this era, maybe try matching up with their yellow shades to see how they compare.
Probably just needs toning down a little.

Ian,

I went to a copy of Ari's/Bizo's Pennsylvania (ACR-4) and we're using the same colors.

Here is the USS Virginia (BB-13) in 1909. Note the pole masts have been replaced with cage masts and the bridge and it's wings have also been modified.
