Type 71 Arctic littoral combat ship
[ img ]

requirements
1) The ship must be armed with a minimum of A main cannon (literally any caliber will do) and at the least one or two Heavy Machine Guns. Yes 1x 155mm and 2x 30mm, also has decoy launchers, ASW TT and multiple VLS silos for a full range of missiles

2) Minimum icebreaking levels. By the Polar Classification system it would be PC 3 (although PC 2 designs will be given great praise, and PC 1 designs will be godly) Unsure ICE3 or PC1 designed for Polar and Antarctic missions certainly not hindered by thick ice?

3) Role requirements. This challenge is targeted towards surface ships only, and excludes submarines. Definitely not under the water

Thats it! Have fun! :P

Here is my ship named as the ship used for the polar expedition of Amedeo di Savoia (1899-1900)

Clearly this OPV is bsed, with few modifications, on the Russian Project 23550.

I figure I might as well offer up something, based off a modified Vard 7 100 that I use in the same AU as drew.

... a lot of well known design for an arctic OPV...
Therefore I decided to open a new route through ice using a OPV with DAS hull:

I'm not in any way qualified to evaluate these on technical merits, but I'm very much enjoying the series. Lots of very attractive drawings from everybody!

Lazer_one: You know I admire your work. DAS hull is a good innovation, but it's got nothing to do with russian guns, censors or helos...
We need more! ;)
