Good afternoon, guys!
In the mid 1970s, CMN decided to improve the Combattante II missile boat, enlarging it by 9 meters, improving seaworthiness and interior space, the resulting design was named La Combattante III, and the first customer was the Greek Navy with 4 vessels built in France and armed with Exocet MM38 missiles, and with further 6 more vessels built in Greece, but armed with Penguin (6) missiles.
Tunisia placed an order for 3 boats, armed with 8 Exocet MM40 missiles. Qatar also ordered botas armed with this missile.
Finally, Nigeria bought 3 missileless (according to the italian wiki) boats.
