These are all good, and a very welcome addition. Many
small ships/craft/vessels are overlooked in the history
and technology books. I see that many countries have
adopted the diagonal hull stripe for coast guard vessels.
Is this a formal international policy by agreement?

Nope. It's simply because US Coast Guard introduced it and everybody else thought it looked cool and followed suit (like with Picatinny rail or pixel camouflage). ;P

Arguin is a fisheries patrol ship of the German Fassmer FPB-54 design, built in 2000 for Mauritanian Ministry's of Fisheries Délégation à la Surveillance des Pêches et au Contrôle en Mer. It's named after island, and bay which are a centre of a national park and a World Heritage Site, which is a major breeding site for migratory birds. She has displacement of ca. 1000 tons, total length of 54,5 metres. Propulsion consists of 2 MaK 6M20 diesels (2736 bhp) powering single screw, and a 200-shp Schottel bow thruster. Speed is 16 knots and endurance is 22 days. Crew consists of 13 but accomodations are provided for 32. It was also provided (though the few available current photos don't seem to show it any more) with a Fassmer Type MP-990 inspection launch on a centerline stern ramp.

Btw. it happens to be Shipbucket's first Mauritanian ship. 8-)

That's a very nice addition, a good looking ship and a lesser known vessel too, good to see Mauritania joining SB!
