It's a beautiful drawing!
It also harkens back to another age, obviously. It's remarkable to look at this little turtle-tank of a ship and think of it as a seagoing warship, crammed to the gills with nearly 300 men. Clearly it is of an era when human labor was cheap compared to industrial products. Consider how much of an incredible pain in the ass it would be to maintain anything in a hull so cramped... but yet, everything is so simple anyway because manpower is such a fundamentally important tool.

As one of charguizard's aforementioned "boys doing period AU ships" I can confirm that this will be a very influential design for details. It's a very fine drawing!
