The Texas, Mexican & Pacific Railroad was built between Yuma Mex and Marshall Tex. The goal was to create a pacific interchange with Los Angeles to be connected to the major cities of Texas, to then continue through to Baton Rouge LA. The line runs through Mexico, to Tucson, following close the border of New Mexico US before crossing the border at Paso Del Norte, after which it continues to Dallas-Fort Worth, and Marshall, before going across the border again to Shreveport US, to Baton Rouge and New Orleans US.

There are further connections in Mexico, with a line connecting as far south as Victoria de Durango, and into Rio Grande (from Jimenez), through Torreon, Monclova, and Saltillo to Monterrey.

TexMex as it is commonly known, is the largest railway company in Texas, with the longest route miles in Texas. It is headquartered in El Paso, Texas. It is known for exclusively using Bexar Locomotive Company locomotives, since its inception.
