USS Fulton

Floating battery USS Demologos / Fulton (1814)

I usually draw only Spanish ships, and leave the North American ones to friends from overseas. However, I was surprised that a ship as important as the USS Fulton (USS Demologos), the first steam warship, has not been drawn yet.

I do not have any drawings, except one by Fulton, and by painters of the time, with many differences between them. I have based my work mainly on the USNA model.

Very nice work.

Maybe this would help a bit to check for any potential refinements? It's from "The Old Steam Navy, vol. 1 - Frigates, Sloops, and Gunboats, 1815-1885" by Donald L. Canney, Naval Institute Press, 1990.
Sorry that I can't provide better quality.

It seems to me that the USNA model is based on that plan, and that changes will not be required. The curiosity is that the period drawings are different, especially of the bowsprit. Since Fulton died while it was being built, it is possible that it was modified.

Thanks
