That sounds good. I can work with that.

Going back to the vehicles for a bit.
I wouldn't go with half-tracks. Back in the day they had two major advantages over fully tracked vehicles.
They were easier to drive so the driver didn't need as much training. This is an important feature when a large part of your army consists of conscripts. Secondly they required less maintenance since they weren't eating their gearboxes and differentials every time they went around a corner.
However, technology marches on and eventually the engineers got good enough at making gearboxes and differentials to the point where there's no extra wear and tear associated with turning. Tracked vehicles still require more maintenance than a wheeled one, but that's equally true for a half-track
Another thing that has come a long way is the controls. Modern tanks like the Leopard II have a control layout that's remarkably similar to that found in a truck. This makes them significantly easier to drive, which again makes them easier to train drivers for.

The end result is that a half-track doesn't really have any real advantages anymore. Instead you end up with a vehicle that has the combined weaknesses of both types of vehicles. No surprise they've been abandoned by everyone but Iran, except for a few specialist roles.

Well, that kinda sucks. Half-tracks are awesome. I do think though, that buying half-tracks would be cheaper than buying tracked APCs/IFVs, and they would have the same capabilities. I 'm not sure though.

I have a few questions about ships. I am working on my Destroyer and my Frigate. After looking at the Arleigh Burke and OHP, I noticed the towed array sonar. After looking at the equipment sheet, I think I found it. Is this it and do they still use this regularly today?

Also, looking in the Database, I saw an AU ship that had 2 guns hanging over the side.

Is this feasible?

One last thing, what is the deck penetration of the AK-630?

Thanks

It might be feasible, but in that location the mount would be very exposed and wet nearly all the time. That'd make it highly suseptible to corrosion and would make maintenance a nightmare. Plus it probably wouldn't have optimal firing arcs there.

As for the AK-630 the magazine, some machinery, and electronics are in a small space below the turret, but I don't know exactly what the dimensions of the space it takes up are. Here's a link to a site that has some good pics of the AK-630 including a couple of decent schematics. The site is in Korean, but some of the pics may be useful.

Thanks. When I was looking at the wiki page, I skimmed over the specs. After I looked back over, it said that Ammo Stowage was one deck below, so I got that figured out.
I am also working on my Heavy Aviation Cruiser. Here are some basic specs I'm trying to work off of.

Guardian Class Heavy Aviation Cruiser

2 Ships in Class
Guardian Launched 1993 (early)
Sentinal Launched 1993 (late)

Mission: AA, ASW, ASuW, Fleet Leader

General Characteristics:

Length OA: 850.0 feet
Length WL:
Beam: 105.0 feet
Draught: 30.0 feet
Speed: 30 kts
Range: 12,500nm @ 20kts
Crew: 1250

Propulsion:
Quad Shaft CODLAG

4x AAC LM2500, producing 25MW each.
7x AAC 12 cylinder diesel generator, producing 2.5 MW each
4x Norfolk Electric electric motors producing 3.75 MW each

or
8 turbopressurized boilers, 4 steam turbines (180,000 shp), four shafts

Armament

2x Turret with 2/130mm gun/howitzers
8x 30mm CIWS, 5000 rpm
2x 32 cell VLS launcher (64 missiles)
12x 20mm MG
6x twin P-500 SSM launcher (12 Missiles)
10x twin 24" torpedo tubes

Sensors and Equipment

AN/SPY-1D 3D Radar

Air Wing

15x AAC Ranger helicopters (Huey)
10x AAC Hawk VTOL (Harrier on steroids)

Does this sound somewhat reasonable? It is basically based on the Kiev, with my integration of 'Americanish' systems.

I'm still trying to figure out the various radars and associated equipment.
To make a note, the systems are influenced by Russian and Amerian systems, but most everything is built 'in-house.'

Composition of Your fleet looks better now, indeed.
Note, hovewer, that 2 CVH's don't mean You have 2 Task Forces to deploy at all times, merely that You can possibly have them during the war (from time to time). In peace time it's one TF deployed, one at port/training/maintenance/refit etc.
As for the size of the CVH's, if You want them to be 40000t, then ok, why not. :)
But perhaps for an ASW heli carrier (or essentially heli cruiser) half of it could be enough too, esp. for a country that size (then it would be about 650 ft long, I guess).
Having a combined heli carrier/through-deck cruiser would allow You to drop cruisers (but that's Your AU and Your choice, of course ;) ).
Also (though I may not remember it correctly - I'm not at home right now, so I can't look into materials I have), I think that - at least in 1980s/90s US Amphibious Ready Groups were escorted by only about 2 frigates (without destroyers). After all for a deployment they would usually sail with main task force anyway.

I would love to see the ships draw...
And also...
Are the ships going to have a special color scheme.

It won't and they won't. You'll end up with a vehicle that will be susceptible to blown tires and have the added maintenance associated with tracks and have the turning radius of a truck but the slower speed of a tracked vehicle.

And it won't be any cheaper than a fully tracked or fully wheeled vehicle. You'll still need all of the most expensive components of each class of vehicle (Tracks and drive-train from the tracked vehicle, front suspension, steering and possibly front drive of a wheeled vehicle)
The fact that you'd be the sole user wouldn't help either. (Unless you want to trade with Iran that is)

Chilean company Cardoen developed a half-track APC called BMS-1 Alacran in 1980s, but there were no sales.

http://www.military-today.com/apc/alacran.htm

"Ultimately the Alacran was not a success; while it's mobility was demonstrated to be superior to all other halftrack models, the Chilean Army deemed it to be poor in comparison to contemporary wheeled and full-track vehicles, and the offer was turned down."
